Pizza Dough Method

If you don’t have much time, grab a premade pizza base at your local grocery store, or hand make your own pizza dough following the simple steps below.

  1. Whisk the lukewarm water and yeast in a plastic or glass jug. Let the mixture stand for approx. five minutes.
  2. Add salt and flour in a large bowl. Create a hollow well in the middle and gently pour the liquid yeast mixture and oil.
  3. Using dough mixer or hands, gently mix dough until smooth. Place pizza dough on a lightly floured work surface and then knead by hand for five minutes.
  4. Lightly oil a bowl, and place mixture in and cover with plastic wrap. Leave in a warm place to rise until the dough doubles in size.
  5. Pour dough mix out onto a clean, floured surface. Now hand knead gently for another five minutes.
  6. Sprinkle a little flour on the bench before rolling to prevent dough from sticking.
  7. Divide dough mixture into equal sized balls. Hand stretch or roll out the bases to the expected size.

The pizza should be done within roughly 15 minutes. Always cook to personal tastes.

About Egg

Although not a common topping, Egg is usually hard boiled and then sliced and allowed to cool completely, before being used as a topping on Pizza. However, some pizzas go well with a fried egg placed on top.
Eggs are very healthy for you. One egg contains only 5 grams of fat, 7 grams of high-quality protein, iron, minerals, vitamins and carotenoids. The humble egg contains amazing disease fighting nutrients, such as zeaxanthin and lutein.

Glass Measuring Jug

A good quality, heavy glass measuring jug with clear marking for various measures to me is a must. I hate taking chances with portions, so it’s an important tool for me.

Roquefort

Roquefort is a popular semi-soft French blue cheese, often referred to as the ‘cheese of kings and popes’. Roquefort is aged for five months. As well as pizza, it is used in salads and dressings.

Roquefort cheese is rich, creamy and sharp, tangy, salty in flavour and the texture is moist and breaks into little pieces easily.
