About Olive

Related to mangoes, almonds, cherries and peaches, Olives are very healthy, with high levels of vitamin E and powerful antioxidants. Olives are small stone fruits that grow on trees that can live for thousands of years.
Olives come in an assortment of colour, however this is a reflection of the maturity of the fruit; green and black olives come from the same trees, and aren’t different species. In ancient roman times, women used olive oil in their hair and skin during bathing.

Pizza Tools

When making Olive Pizza, it’s always handy to have the right pizza making tools. Here’s the basic pizza tools that I always suggest…

Mesh Sieve

You will find having a seive such a useful element for all your baking, not just for pizza. It’s great to filter all flours through a fine mesh sieve before adding to recipes.

Pizza Peel

A pizza peel aka paddle is a crucial tool for those who are making pizza often.

Pizza Cutter

The one kitchen tool every adult should have in their drawer. See our article on how to cut pizza for the various cutting tools.

Kasseri Cheese

Kasseri cheese is a traditional Greek cheese that offers a unique flavor to any dish. Kasseri cheese is made from sheep or goat’s milk and has a hard texture with a mild, salty taste.

The high melting point makes Kasseri cheese the ideal topping for pizzas that are baked at high temperatures. It won’t become greasy or turn into liquid during the cooking process, so it retains its texture throughout.
